This is my first bowl for quarter two and it is 3 and a half inches tall and around 3 inches wide with a smooth surface. Then the glaze is shadow green on the inside and ivory yellow on the outside. I glazed it by filling a cup with shadow green then pouring it in the bowl and letting it wish around then pouring it out then I dipped it in ivory yellow. One skill I learned from this was how to make a big first pull of a wall by using a good ammount of pressure. This shows color because on the outside it has a speckled effect to it then the shaddow green has black specks going through it on the inside, also there is harmony to me because it shows lots of black random specks that draw your eye and make the project more intercet. This projects feeling to me is how random glaze can be with the new colors we have and the hidden aspects of glaze.

This is my very tall project, its probably around 6.5 maybe 7.5 inches tall with a blue glaze on it and a smooth surface but a little rough at the handle. I glazed it by painting it black then painting it white because I couldn't dip it because it was too tall. One thing I learned it how to pull a wall without connecting my hands and still have balance. This has value because you look inside of it and it was dark and deep then on the outside it had large walls, you can also see scale because of the handle which is long and stretches the project. This shows how much I've advanced in a short amount of time and am able to improve by correcting myself on the spot.
This is my lidded project, it is glazed with black stripes and the surface is smooth with a height of 3/5 inches and a width of 3 inches. I glazed it by wiping black on the surface in lines then dipping it in white. One thing that I have learned from this is how to fit on a lid while making the project. This project shows contrast because of the clear glaze and the scrap black lines that go through it, then it shows balance to because there isn't any definition between the lines they all flow together on the white project. This project shows how things can be different in my ceramics work like I may be good at tal work but I'll suffer trying to make a fitting lid for a project.
This is a new bowl of mine where I tried opening the lip more. It's surface is smooth with a blue glaze on the outside with a black stripe going through the middle, it is 3 and a half inches tall and 4 inches wide from the outside of the lip. I glazed it by dipping some of the two half's in white then I left some of the middle with out black on it. One skill I learned was to pull out and over to make the lip smooth and end calmly. Value is shown by the light blue covering the black which makes it a very calming sight, and also shows contrast with the two unequal colors. This bowl shows how I can experiment with glaze to make new beautiful color like I got in this, though mixing colors doesn't always turn out well.
This is my third bowl of the year it is shadow green on the outside and brown on the inside with a smooth surface, it's about 2.5 inches tall and 3.5 wide. I glazed it by simply pouring brown glaze in the middle moving it around then pouring it out then dipping it not completely in shadow green. One skill I learned is pouring glaze only on the inside of the bowl. This has a bit of value in person because shadow green has hints of black and white then it contrasts the middle brown, and with that value there is contrast in the work. There is some significance in this but not much, but there is because I have got back into the theme of making bowls and coning my work.
This is my planter project it is smooth on the surface and has brown black and blue color. It's around 4 inches wide and and inch and a quarter tall. I glazed it by dipping half in white and half in black then re dipping the white side in brown which didn't blend as well as I had hoped. A skill I learned is how to pull the outer wall better. This project shows space because it has two walls to show growing and shrinking space, this also has contrast because of the three different colors that keep getting lighter going down. There is segnificance in this to me because I'm starting to perfect my skill at centering and making planters, not meaning im perfect at it just getting good.
This is my second bowl in ceramics, the glaze is black and the size is 4 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide. The surface is smooth and nothing sticks out. I glazed it by drawing on many coats of black, there is three Chinese words that together mean I love her. then I dipped it in clear glaze. One skill that I learned while doing this is how to write and have it show up on projects. This project shows line well because its the main part of this as it drags your eye around the middle and through the figure. I almost like to say that this has balance because when I think of Chinese I think of the samurai and the great balance they had within kind of like this project how I let the brush glide my hand as I drew the figures. This project gives me the feeling of holding on to love just because this is in stone and meaning that the statement I made will last a long time and not fade.
This is my cup with a pulled handle project it is about 2 and a half inches tall and a inch and a half wide wit ha small handle and a smooth surface. The color is on the exterior is a thick coat of black and on the interior is white. I glazed it by pouring white into the middle then just angling it to cover the inside then I dipped it in black without letting it get inside. One skill I learned is how to pull a handle using water. There is great value shown in the project with the white interior and the black exterior and a some what blue liner under the lip, then there is good contrast in the project using those two colors that are opposites. One thing that I show by making is project is that there's always a light to a dark and there is always some darkness in light but there is always a balance between both.
This is my first bowl project (the photo didn't come out that great) it is black on the outside then painted white on the inside then black covering it. Then its like 2 and a half inches tall with 3 inches wide and you can feel the line value in the surface. To glaze it I painted on two coats of white glaze on the inside then a coat or two of black on the inside then dipped it in black but only covering the outside. A new skill I learned was to kind of engrave lines into the side of it while footing. Line value makes your eye wrap around the project and you can feel the contrast on the outside wall when you pick it up. This project to me shows like a dark nigt with the night sky on the inside of the bowl.
This is my vase, it took me a few attempts to throw one in the shape I wanted and this is what I got. Its a runny blue and smooth with a height of 3.25 inches and a width from the lips of about 1 inch. I glazed it by dipping it in white then once it dried dipping it in black then firing it. A new skill I learned it to pull the lip out before it end to make it look better. Shape plays a big part in this because the basis of making a base is to make a abstract shape, so this one has a thin bottom then rises high and ends calm with the lip. There is good balance through out the project because when you pick it up you can feel that it is very evenly dispersed with clay to form it. The idea or feeling I get from this project is creativity because I really got to do something creative to me with the shape even though the glaze was kind of plain and something I've previously done.
